Arcadia Plug API

Utility bills, interval data, tariff rates, and community solar allocations from electric accounts via Arcadia Plug and Signal APIs.

About

Arcadia provides an energy data platform that aggregates billing, interval, and rate information from electric and gas utilities. Through the Plug API and Signal platform, teams access parsed utility statements, interval meter telemetry, emissions factors, and detailed utility tariff structures. End users authorize access through the Arcadia Connect credential widget, linking meters to automated billing ingestion and community solar subscription management.

Through Fibric, an operator monitors utility statements and tariff signals, proposing meter refreshes and cost allocation reviews for approval.

This is a reference listing. It documents what Fibric would read from Arcadia Plug API and what it could propose, based on the vendor's published interfaces. Fibric builds it under a managed deployment when you request it; selecting it here installs nothing.

Inputs

  • Utility account records and credential status through GET /utility_accounts
  • Parsed utility bills, charge line items, and statement files via GET /statements
  • Interval meter data in 15-minute or hourly resolutions from GET /intervals
  • Utility tariff schedules, rate tiers, and demand charges through the Signal Tariffs API
  • Grid carbon intensity and marginal emissions factors via Signal Carbon endpoints
  • Webhook notifications for statement readiness, interval ingest completion, and credential errors

Proposed actions

  • Target capability: propose creating an Arcadia Connect widget session token via POST /connect_tokens
  • Target capability: propose initiating a manual statement or interval sync for an active account
  • Target capability: propose subscribing to a webhook topic for automated statement delivery
  • Target capability: propose archiving or disconnecting a deactivated utility account

Proposed actions are target capabilities. Every action runs propose-first and needs a validated deployment and the appropriate permissions.

What you can build

  • Track carbon intensity across facility operations

Pair real-time grid emissions signals from Arcadia with building energy consumption, proposing load shifts to hours with lower marginal carbon intensity.

    With Carbon Window, Peak Demand

  • Validate demand charges against peak interval draw

Compare tariff demand charge thresholds against interval load readings and propose peak-shaving battery discharge actions during high-cost intervals.

    With Price Shift, Battery Dispatch

  • Allocate utility expenses across tenants

Extract parsed statement line items and utility charges to propose precise monthly submeter utility chargebacks to commercial occupants.

    With Utility Chargeback, Bill Reconcile

Requirements

  • An enterprise Arcadia developer contract with enabled access to the Plug or Signal APIs
  • Utility customer authorization granted through the Arcadia Connect widget workflow
  • Service addresses within supported utility service territories across the United States
Authentication
API client ID and client secret sent as HTTP Basic authentication or Bearer token against api.arcadia.com.

Limits

  • Statement availability is subject to monthly billing schedules determined by local utilities
  • Interval meter data availability requires smart meter infrastructure deployed at the facility
  • Utility portal maintenance can temporarily delay credential synchronization

Questions and answers

How do utility accounts get connected to Arcadia?
Customers connect their utility accounts using the Arcadia Connect front-end component. Users select their utility provider and submit their online account credentials, which Arcadia securely validates to begin retrieving statement and interval data.
What data is returned by the Signal Tariffs API?
Signal Tariffs returns comprehensive electricity rate models, including fixed customer charges, tiered energy rates, time-of-use blocks, and demand ratchets modeled directly from published utility tariffs.
Can Fibric modify utility account credentials?
No. Account credential updates are handled directly by the customer through the Arcadia Connect interface. Fibric can only detect authorization issues and propose sending a re-authentication prompt.
