About

The U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board is an independent nonregulatory federal agency created by Congress. It investigates accidental chemical releases that cause fatalities, injuries, or substantial property damage, and it issues safety recommendations rather than fines or citations. Requirements

  • An RSS reader that handles the content:encoded and dc:creator extension elements
  • A polling schedule you set; the CSB states no update frequency for its feeds
  • A rule for which categories to follow, since each CategoryId is a separate feed URL
  • Access to www.csb.gov over HTTPS
Authentication
None. The feeds are open RSS documents on www.csb.gov; no key, account, or registration is needed.

Limits

  • Items are news releases, not structured incident records; there are no fields for facility, chemical, or location beyond the headline text
