About

BMKG, Indonesia's Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics, publishes earthquake events for the whole of Indonesia on its open data portal. Three feeds are offered in XML and JSON: autogempa for the latest event, gempaterkini for the 15 most recent events of magnitude 5.0 and above, and gempadirasakan for the 15 most recent felt events. Each record carries date, time, coordinates, magnitude, depth, region, tsunami potential, and a shakemap filename.

Through Fibric you poll the feeds within the published rate limit, match events to your Indonesian sites and suppliers, and let operators propose check-ins, holds, or notices for your approval.

This is a reference listing. It documents what Fibric would read from BMKG Earthquake Data and what it could propose, based on the publisher's published interfaces. Fibric builds it under a managed deployment when you request it; selecting it here installs nothing.

Requirements

Authentication
No key or account. The feeds are open HTTP files under data.bmkg.go.id/DataMKG/TEWS/.

Limits

  • Each list holds only the 15 most recent events; there is no query by date, region, or magnitude
  • Feeds update only when an earthquake occurs, so a quiet period returns the same records
  • Rate limit of 60 requests per minute per IP
  • Field names and Wilayah text are in Indonesian; DateTime is the one UTC field

Questions and answers

Which formats and feeds does BMKG publish?
XML and JSON for three feeds: autogempa (latest event), gempaterkini (15 events of M 5.0 and above), and gempadirasakan (15 felt events). Shakemap images are JPEG files under static.bmkg.go.id named by the Shakemap field.
Is there a rate limit or a key?
No key. BMKG states a limit of 60 requests per minute per IP and requires that BMKG (Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika) be named as the data source and shown in your application or system.
How current are the feeds?
BMKG states the feeds are updated whenever an earthquake event occurs. autogempa always holds the latest event; the two list feeds roll forward as new events qualify.
