PDOK Locatieserver

Dutch address, postcode, cadastral parcel, and place geocoding from Kadaster and the national BAG registry.

About

PDOK Locatieserver is the national geocoding and location search service of the Netherlands, operated by Kadaster on behalf of the Dutch government. It indexes the Basisregistratie Adressen en Gebouwen (BAG), the national cadastral register (BRK), the national topographic register (BRT), and postal codes, serving typeahead suggestions, free-text address search, and reverse geocoding via standard REST endpoints.

Through Fibric, an operator references standardized Dutch addresses and cadastral parcels to validate Netherlands customer delivery destinations, suggest accurate 4PP and 6PP postal codes, and resolve parcel centroid coordinates without commercial licensing barriers.

This is a reference listing. It documents what Fibric would read from PDOK Locatieserver and what it could propose, based on the publisher's published interfaces. Fibric builds it under a managed deployment when you request it; selecting it here installs nothing.

Inputs

  • Typeahead address autocompletion and suggestion queries via the Locatieserver suggest endpoint
  • Detailed Dutch address lookups resolving BAG object identifiers, street names, and house numbers
  • Dutch 4-digit and 6-digit postal code centroid and administrative municipality lookups
  • Cadastral parcel searches and identifier lookups from the Basisregistratie Kadaster (BRK)
  • Reverse geocoding converting latitude and longitude coordinates into closest Dutch postal addresses

Proposed actions

Read-only. This feed informs operators; it changes nothing.

Proposed actions are target capabilities. Every action runs propose-first and needs a validated deployment and the appropriate permissions.

What you can build

  • Repair Dutch shipping addresses and validate 6PP postcodes

Submit entered Dutch addresses to Locatieserver suggest and lookup endpoints, proposing corrected house number additions and standardized 6PP postal codes.

    With Address Repair, Ship-To Change

  • Resolve Dutch delivery drop-offs to cadastral parcel centroids

Query Locatieserver parcel lookups for commercial premises, proposing exact building access points and loading dock coordinates for transport drivers.

    With Field Dispatch, Delivery Proof

Requirements

  • Query text formatted according to Dutch address conventions or WGS84 / RD New (EPSG:28992) coordinate pairs
  • Handling of Dutch 6-character alphanumeric postal codes (format 1234 AB)
  • Reasonable query pacing in accordance with Dutch public digital infrastructure fair use policies
Authentication
None. PDOK Locatieserver is freely accessible as a public government service without API keys, tokens, or registration requirements.

Limits

  • Coverage is strictly restricted to the European territory of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
  • Locatieserver indexes public registers; private developments under construction appear once registered in municipal BAG feeds
  • Automated bulk crawling should use compressed dump files rather than high-concurrency API hammering

Access and pricing
